Do you need to know about forest fires in real time in your given location or in a region of interest? Do you need real-time information about on-going fires or fire risks? Then the EFFIS app is for you. EFFIS is the European Forest Fire Information System what has been developed by the fire community. It is aimed at fire managers and operational staff but can be used by anybody with a mobile device. The app is part of a system that includes a wide variety of satellite data with the most advanced fire detection and warning systems and media news resources. This app allows you to benefit from this information system directly on your mobile. You can: - view fire danger forecasting for the next three days; - detect hot spots in real time; - get fire-related news; and - receive alerts. You can also: - notify of fire hazards and help to mitigate risks; - calculate the fire rate of spread (ROS) via your mobile device; - get mapping and fire reports on the burnt area.
Requires iOS 7.1 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

How to install EFFIS on your iOS device:

- If you are not logged-in the iOS appstore app, you'll be prompted for your your Apple ID and/or password.
- After EFFIS is downloaded, you'll see an INSTALL button to the right. Tap on it to start the actual installation of the iOS app.
- Once installation is finished you can tap on the OPEN button to start it. Its icon will also be added to your device home screen.
